Reflect on the status of human resource management in your current position or organization. What elements can you identify that provide a human resource management perspective that focuses on the employees within the organization? What elements can you identify that provide a more strategic human resource management focus on the whole of the organization?

Solution

In my current role at Cherokee Indian Hospital, I’ve observed a strong human resource management focus on both employee well-being and organizational effectiveness. The hospital fosters a supportive work culture through open communication, access to mental health resources, professional development, and a commitment to confidentiality and compliance with policies and procedures. Strategically, HR practices are aligned with broader organizational goals through structured onboarding, workforce planning, leadership development, and performance evaluations tied to patient care. These combined efforts help create a balanced, high-functioning workplace that supports both staff and the hospital’s mission.
