Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is an organization whose vision is to create better workplaces. They provide resources on how to approach different topic s within the workplace setting. For example, there is information on how to build programs for diversity inclusion, performance improvement plans, how to foster employee resource groups that align with federal law, and how to build successful mentorship programs. According to SHRM the coronavirus pandemic not only expanded human resources corporate influence, but also led to a renewed focus on employees. There is now an increased focus on employees’ strengths rather than their shortcomings, with there also being an emphasis on a holistic view of employees (Harbert, 2021). This in turn has led employers to focus on employees’ physical and mental health and being proactive about early detection of problems and help. Furthermore, employee experience has influenced the implementation of mentorship programs for new hires and a healthier work-life balance (Harbert, 2021).
