SHRM’s mission is to empower organizations and employees through human resource practices and maximizing the potential in everyone. They look to do this by creating a world of employment opportunities to fit all individuals. SHRM looks to be the voice and the liaison for both employees and employers from a variety of angles to include expert, research,  and advocacy. The effects of COVID-19 impacted HR as guidance rapidly evolved and changed during that time. They needed to remain current on state and federal paid leave laws.
