The peer-reviewed journal article by O’Donnell et al. (2022) provides an elaborate understanding of the value of remote therapeutic monitoring among patients who are accessing cognitive behavioral therapy. Community monitoring provides an opportunity to operate within an expanded platform for accessing mental health services. As an individual interested in psychiatry, I consider this topic to be instrumental in improving my understanding of the best ways of integrating technology as part of operations and prioritizing quality, evidence-based, and desirable solutions that can help to improve collaboration incorporation with the target patient population. Through the article, it was evident that the strategies that are unique in addressing the needs and interests of vulnerable individuals must be based on both pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic solutions in mental health. Remote monitoring improves Access, eliminates barriers, and ensures freedom as patients are navigating diverse health needs within their locality.
CINAHL Plus, with full text, was the database used to enable access to their peer-reviewed journal article. Through this database, it was easier to access peer-reviewed articles and prioritize different topics in community health, mental health, and nursing practice. While accessing this article, I did not encounter any major problems because I have an understanding of the ways of using Boolean operators such as “AND” and “OR.” The rationale of the Boolean operators was to enable better access to the articles by connecting different search phrases (Walden University Library, n.d.). The phrases included “Cognitive behavioral therapy,” “remote monitoring,” and “mental health access.” The initial search generated 102 articles. However, after the filtering process that included selectively of publications between 2018 and 2024 and required that they are all peer-reviewed and published in the English language, 10 articles were generated.
The CINAHL database is highly instrumental in enabling access to quality, evidence-based, and relevant information. As a nursing student, age provides opportunities for improving my knowledge and skills in matters of nursing and medical studies. In the context of society, I am capable of making decisions from the point of information, which makes it easier to deliberate on the most appropriate evidence-based practice interventions. The use of Boolean operators enabled the narrowing down of the subject matter and better access to relevant articles (Walden University Library, n.d.). I consider the database to be reliable, relevant, and of great quality when determining the adequacy of accessing peer-reviewed journals. My colleagues will benefit from this database, especially those interested in nursing research.
