Select and profile (a) a high-level job position you aspire to secure in your chosen allied health field and (b) a same-level position in a different and unrelated allied health care field. What educational and professional qualifications must an individual in each of these positions possess? What is the typical career path to arrive at each position? Compare and contrast the responsibilities of each position with regard to workplace safety, risk management, and/or quality of service, and identify one element from each career path that might benefit the other.

Solution

A high level position that I aspire to secure in my chosen allied health field is a Physician Assistant. In order to achieve that goal, I was have to complete a specific academic journey. After I graduate with my bachelors, I would have to apply to PA school and do roughly 3-4 years of schooling before having to submit my boards and official earn that credential. There is definitly more responsibility influence that this position has in regards to risk management, quality of service and workplace safety.

A similar position in an unrelated allied ealth field would be a director of a specialty. They also are required to climb up the ladder and usually have a masters or doctorate credential to do their job. Schooling adds up to be roughly the same in this case. They also have more responsibility and accountability when it comes to managing risk management programs and workplace safety.

If a director had the knowledge of patient care that a PA does, they would be able to better assess risk management. If the PA had the same knowledge of patient statistics that a director had, they would be able to apply it when determining the quality of service being performed.
